The pride of New Jersey, Dave Wyndorf has been doing the Garden State good since the late 1970s. As the frontman of punk/power pop band Shrapnel, Dave’s voice captivated the audiences who picked up the band’s self-titled EP on Elektra records. As the 1980s were coming to a close, Dave looked back to his past to discover the proto-metal/psychedelic/hard rock sounds of his youth. Inspired by the sounds that made him fall in love with music, Dave created Monster Magnet, a band that helped developed and popularize the modern stoner rock genre. Known best for their hits “Negasonic Teenage Warhead” (a title that would be used for a popular character in X-Men and the first ‘Deadpool’ movie) and “Space Lord,” a staple of 90s alternative radio and MTV, Monster Magnet stormed the land, leaving behind headbanging rockers and vivid rock dreams in their wake. As of 2021, the band continues on, releasing ‘A Better Dystopia,’ a ‘roots record’ of sorts that had the band cover the songs that inspired Dave to make Monster Magnet
